The Cloud Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management, operation and optimisation of the Company's multi-cloud environment supporting development teams and business units. This is a hands-on management role responsible for cloud provisioning, access management, incident response, performance and capacity optimisation, cost management, monitoring and ensuring cloud services are secure, reliable and aligned with business requirements.
How You’ll Make a Difference
1. Cloud Operations & Provisioning
- Manage and operate multi-cloud environments including cloud accounts/subscriptions, compute, storage, networking and other cloud services.
- Provision and configure cloud resources based on project and business requirements.
- Establish standard provisioning, configuration, naming, tagging and resource management practices.
- Maintain cloud asset inventory and service documentation.
- Act as the primary operational owner for cloud-related incidents and service issues.
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, connectivity, performance and availability issues.
- Coordinate with DevOps, application teams, vendors and cloud providers to resolve incidents.
- Lead root-cause analysis and preventive measures for recurring issues.
3. Access & Security Management
- Manage cloud access, roles, permissions and privileged accounts based on least-privilege principles.
- Work closely with the Group Security team to implement cloud security controls.
- Ensure cloud environments comply with established security and governance standards.
4. Capacity & Cost Optimisation
- Perform resource sizing and rightsizing based on workload requirements.
- Monitor cloud consumption, utilisation and spending across multiple cloud platforms.
- Implement cost optimisation measures and establish appropriate budgets, alerts and tagging.
- Provide regular cloud cost and utilisation reporting to management.
5. Monitoring & Performance
- Implement and maintain cloud monitoring, logging, alerting and operational dashboards.
- Proactively identify operational risks and recommend improvements.
6. DevOps & Business Partnership
- Work closely with DevOps and development teams to provision environments and support deployment requirements.
- Engage Business Units and project teams to understand requirements and translate them into appropriate cloud solutions.
- Provide guidance on cloud sizing, deployment and operational considerations.
- Act as the key Group IT contact for cloud operational matters.
- Promote Infrastructure-as-Code and automation to reduce manual provisioning and operational effort.
- Develop and maintain cloud operational procedures, standards and documentation.
- Evaluate new cloud services and technologies to improve scalability, security and operational efficiency.
- Willing to travel and accept overseas assignments, where required.
- Other duties and responsibilities that may from time to time be assigned by the management.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure or cloud operations with experience managing enterprise or production environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with at least two major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or others.
- Strong understanding of cloud compute, storage, networking, IAM, monitoring, logging, backup and security services.
- Experience in cloud provisioning, troubleshooting, incident management, performance optimization and cost management.
- Experience working with DevOps, development teams and Business Units.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, containers and DevOps practices is an advantage.
- Relevant cloud certifications are an advantage.
