Job summary

PERSOL Workforce Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with Azure/AWS expertise to design and deploy scalable cloud architectures. The role focuses on multi-cloud architecture, IaC, automated governance, and secure, cost-efficient operations.

You will implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation or Bicep, and build CI/CD pipelines to support deployment cycles while enforcing security controls and FinOps.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a cloud engineer in Azure and/or AWS.
• Expertise in multi-cloud architecture and IaC implementation.
• Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation or Bicep for infra as code.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines in DevOps environments.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes for microservices.
• Knowledge of IAM, VPC/VNet, encryption and security best practices.

Job description

• a. Senior Azure (preferred) or AWS Cloud engineer with at least 5 years of experience.
• b. Focus: Multi-cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automated governance.
• c. Infrastructure Design: Architect and deploy highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable cloud solutions across Azure (App Services, SQL Database, Functions) and/or AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).
• d. IaC Implementation: Eliminate manual configuration by defining all infrastructure through code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep). Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• e. DevOps & Automation: Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to support the OutSystems and Boomi deployment cycles.
• f. Security & Compliance: Implement Identity and Access Management (IAM), Virtual Private Clouds (VPC/VNet), and encryption protocols to meet enterprise security standards.
• g. Cost Optimization: Monitor cloud spend and implement FinOps strategies (right-sizing, reserved instances) to ensure the environment remains cost-effective.
• h. Multi-Cloud Expertise: Professional-level certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional)
• i. Containerization: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS) for microservices-based architectures.
• j. Scripting: High proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for operational automation.
• k. Networking: Deep understanding of DNS, Load Balancers (ALB/ELB), VPN Gateways, and API Gateways.
