Job summary

Xtremax is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to evolve from cloud implementation to solution design and architecture. You will work with clients and internal teams to understand requirements and design scalable cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

The role emphasizes IaC, automation, and best practices, with strong emphasis on communication and collaboration in a client-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 3–5 years in Cloud Engineering/DevOps/Infra roles.
• Hands-on with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture concepts.
• IaC experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM.
• Automation/scripting with Python, PowerShell, Bash.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, containers and cloud-native tech.
• Ability to translate requirements into practical designs.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Willingness to work directly with clients.

Responsibilities

• Understand client business and technical requirements; translate into cloud solutions.
• Design and propose cloud architectures balancing scalability, reliability, security, and cost.
• Develop cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, or GCP for enterprise workloads.
• Provide technical recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Lead POC and MVP initiatives to validate technologies.
• Prepare technical specifications and architecture diagrams for delivery.
• Apply IaC practices to ensure automated deployments.
• Troubleshoot complex issues with engineering teams.
• Develop automation and scripting to improve deployment efficiency.
• Incorporate security and best practices into solutions.

Requirements

We are looking for a motivated and technically strong Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a Cloud Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career by moving from cloud implementation into solution design and architecture. You will work closely with clients and internal technical teams to understand business requirements, design practical cloud solutions, and support the implementation of scalable, secure, and cost-effective architectures across major cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Client & Requirement Analysis: Work with clients to understand their business and technical requirements and translate them into practical cloud-based solutions.
• Solution Design: Design and propose cloud architectures based on functional and non-functional requirements, considering scalability, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Cloud Architecture: Design and implement solutions across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including enterprise workloads and cloud-native applications.
• Technical Consultation: Provide technical recommendations and explain proposed solutions to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
• POC & MVP: Support and lead Proof of Concept (POC) and Minimum Viable Product (MVP) initiatives to validate proposed technologies and demonstrate solutions to customers.
• Solution Specification: Prepare technical specifications, architecture diagrams, implementation approaches, and other documentation required for solution delivery.
• Infrastructure as Code: Apply IaC practices using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager to ensure consistent and automated infrastructure deployment.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve complex technical issues across cloud infrastructure and applications, working with engineering teams when required.
• Automation: Develop automation and scripting using tools or languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash to improve deployment and operational efficiency.
• Security & Best Practices: Incorporate cloud security, compliance, networking, and operational best practices into proposed solutions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Cloud Engineers, Developers, Project Managers, and other technical teams to ensure the proposed solutions can be implemented successfully.
• Continuous Learning: Keep up to date with cloud technologies, architecture patterns, DevOps practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve solution capabilities

Requirements

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, System Engineering, or a related technical role.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Good understanding of cloud architecture concepts, including networking, compute, storage, databases, security, and scalability.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
• Experience with automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, containers, and cloud-native technologies.
• Ability to analyze technical requirements and translate them into practical solution designs.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to work directly with clients and participate in technical discussions

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified (AWS Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps Engineer)
• Experience with other cloud providers (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Knowledge of other Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Terragrunt)
• Familiarity with containerization technologies other than Kubernetes (e.g., Docker)
