Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital is seeking a proactive Clinic Receptionist to register patients, manage front desk operations, and support patient flow within the clinic.

The role requires at least SPM and 5 years in service environments (healthcare preferred), with fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong customer service skills are essential for delivering courteous, efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• SPM qualification or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years in service environment, healthcare preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Receive and register patients at the clinic counter.
• Prepare case notes and prescriptions prior to consultation.
• Take patient vital signs, weight and height for clinic.
• Coordinate admissions or lab/x-ray investigations.
• Prepare lab/x-ray request forms when necessary.
• Note lab/x-ray results to doctor and file inpatient case notes.
• Arrange bed booking for patient admission.
• Assist with Card application, renewal and data accuracy.
• Ensure smooth traffic flow at the main entrance with porter and directions to destination.
• Involve in budget planning and manpower scheduling, floor management, staff productivity and cost control.
• Conform to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 22000:2005, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, 5S, Planetree, JCI and/or Hospital Accreditation requirements.
• Ensure staff competency to carry out duties.
• Monitor overtime and prevent abuse in overtime claims.
• Maintain a conducive department layout and environment.
• Update information reflecting current hospital facilities.
• Prompt corrective action for non-conformances.
• Aim for satisfactory performance on audits.
• Protect patients’ and families’ rights at all times.
• Adhere to Standard People Practice (SPP).
• Assist in other responsibilities as deemed by General Manager.
• Greet patients at the clinic counter and maintain courtesy.
• Answer phone calls promptly and relay messages.
