The Claims Assistant supports the Insurance Claims Department by processing, coordinating, and tracking motor insurance claims to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Claims Documentation & Processing
- Receive, verify, and process incoming insurance claims documents, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with insurer requirements and company procedures.
- Review claim forms, photos, and supporting materials, and ensure all required documents are obtained before submission to insurers.
- Assist in preparing and submitting claims within required timelines; prepare, scan, and organize supporting documentation as needed.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical filing systems for efficient retrieval and audit purposes.
2. Claims Coordination & Follow-up
- Monitor claim progress and follow up with insurers, adjusters, and relevant parties on status updates.
- Liaise with internal departments to obtain additional information and resolve discrepancies or incomplete submissions.
- Support the department in maintaining operational efficiency and compliance with company policies.
3. Data Management & Reporting
- Ensure claims data is entered accurately and updated in a timely manner.
- Generate and compile periodic claims reports and summaries for management review.
- Monitor documentation status and ensure proper record retention in line with audit requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum SPM, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Insurance, Automotive Studies, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Training will be provided.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Capable of handling confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).

- Knowledge of automobile, automotive parts, vehicle repair processes, or the motor insurance industry.
- Experience using the Merimen system or other insurance claims management platforms.
- Previous experience in insurance claims administration, customer service, workshop administration, or related fields.
- Familiarity with motor insurance claim procedures and documentation requirements.
Working Arrangement
- Willing to work on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
- Rest day(s) will be provided on weekdays accordingly.
