Job summary

SZY Consultants Sdn Bhd in Kuantan, Pahang, is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to lead design from concept to detailed drawings, coordinate with architecture, M&E, QS, and BIM teams, and ensure compliance with codes and authority requirements. You will mentor junior staff, manage design risks, respond to client queries, and support site inspections.

Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and 5–10 years of experience are preferred; AutoCAD and structural software

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in engineering consultancy with exposure to structural and/or infra design works.
• Candidates with strong structural design experience are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil & structural designs from concept to detailed design, including design basis, calculations, drawings and reports.
• Coordinate with Architecture, M&E, QS, BIM/drafting team to ensure buildable, clash-free and coordinated deliverables.
• Ensure outputs comply with relevant codes/standards and authority requirements, including submission documentation.
• Identify design risks/issues early, propose solutions, and respond to client/authority comments, RFIs and technical queries.
• Support project execution through site inspections/technical advice, coordination with contractors, and attendance at meetings.
• Maintain quality through proper checking, documentation control, and adherence to internal QA/QC procedures.

SZY Consultants Sdn Bhd is an established engineering consultancy firm located in Kuantan, Pahang, with 30 years of proven experience and more than 1000 completed and ongoing projects in our hands.

We are expanding our team and are currently seeking a Intermediate / Senior Civil & Structural Engineer with strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a proactive mindset. If you’re ready to make an impact and build a rewarding career, we want to hear from you!

Develop civil & structural designs from concept to detailed design, including design basis, calculations, drawings and reports.

Coordinate with Architecture, M&E, QS, BIM/drafting team to ensure buildable, clash-free and coordinated deliverables.

Ensure all outputs comply with relevant codes/standards and authority requirements, including submission documentation.

Identify design risks/issues early, propose solutions, and respond to client/authority comments, RFIs and technical queries.

Support project execution through site inspections/technical advice, coordination with contractors, and attendance at meetings.

Maintain quality through proper checking, documentation control, and adherence to internal QA/QC procedures.

Additional Responsibilities for Senior C&S Engineer:

Lead projects end-to-end: planning, scheduling, resourcing, tracking progress, and ensuring deliverables are on time, within scope, and to quality standards.

Review/check and approve key technical deliverables; manage design risks, changes, and coordination priorities.

Act as main liaison for client, authorities, and stakeholders; chair/lead meetings and manage technical negotiations.

Mentor and guide the team (junior/intermediate), set technical direction, and uphold overall project performance and client satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For

Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field

5 - 10 years of experience in engineering consultancy firm / exposure in structural and/or infra design works

Candidates with strong structural design experience are highly preferred

Proactive, team-player, critical thinking, good problem solving skills, multitask capability

Senior : Confident decision making ability and good project management skills, proven project management experience in C&S works

Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiar with design software such as Esteem/STAAD-Pro/Infravera will be an added advantage

Must be willing to work in Kuantan, Pahang
