We are looking for a Civil & Mechanical Engineer to support Acotec's engineering, manufacturing and project operations. The role will be responsible for providing technical engineering support across precast wall panel design, shop drawings, production processes, machinery and equipment, quality control, project implementation and on-site technical matters.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal engineering, production, project, sales and quality teams, as well as architects, structural consultants, contractors, developers and other project stakeholders.
This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who is comfortable working across both civil/construction engineering and mechanical/manufacturing environments.
Review architectural, structural and related project drawings to determine the suitability and application of Acotec wall panel systems.
Provide engineering input for the design, detailing and application of precast wall panel systems.
Prepare and review technical drawings, shop drawings, layouts, panel schedules and construction details.
Review dimensions, openings, interfaces, joints, connections and other technical requirements to ensure compatibility with project requirements.
Provide technical recommendations to optimise panel sizes, minimise wastage and improve installation efficiency.
Support the development and technical evaluation of customised wall panel solutions where required.
Work with consultants and project teams to resolve design and technical issues.
Provide engineering support for Acotec and other precast wall system applications, including load-bearing and non-load-bearing solutions where applicable.
Provide technical support to developers, consultants, main contractors and installation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Attend project meetings, site visits, inspections and technical discussions when required.
Investigate and resolve site-related technical issues involving wall panels, installation, interfaces and construction details.
Review site conditions and provide practical engineering solutions to minimise delays and rework.
Coordinate with project teams on installation methodology, panel handling, cutting, wastage control and technical requirements.
Support conversion projects where Acotec systems are proposed as an alternative to conventional wall construction.
Work closely with the production team to ensure panel designs and specifications are practical and compatible with manufacturing capabilities.
Coordinate with factory teams on production requirements, panel dimensions, moulds, production tolerances and technical specifications.
Review production issues and identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality and productivity.
Support troubleshooting of technical issues arising during the manufacturing process.
Develop and maintain engineering specifications, work instructions and technical documentation.
Collaborate with production and quality teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
Support the operation, maintenance and improvement of production machinery, automated systems and mechanical equipment within the manufacturing facility.
Work with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot mechanical and equipment-related issues.
Assist in identifying root causes of equipment breakdowns and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Support preventive maintenance programmes and ensure equipment reliability and availability.
Review machinery performance and identify opportunities for automation, productivity improvement and process optimisation.
Liaise with machinery suppliers, contractors and technical service providers when required.
Assist in evaluating new equipment, machinery and engineering solutions for production improvement.
Ensure engineering solutions and products comply with applicable Malaysian standards, project specifications and relevant regulatory requirements.
Support quality control activities relating to raw materials, production processes and finished wall panels.
Participate in investigation of product defects, non-conformities and customer complaints and recommend corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to quality, productivity, safety and sustainability.
Ensure engineering and production activities are carried out in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
Prepare technical reports, calculations, engineering proposals, method statements and other project documentation where required.
Maintain accurate engineering drawings, specifications, records and technical documentation.
Prepare reports on project technical issues, production performance, equipment reliability and improvement initiatives.
Support internal and external technical presentations and product demonstrations when required.
Work closely with Sales, Business Development, Project, Production, QA/QC and Operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Provide technical support to the commercial team during customer discussions, tender submissions and project proposals.
Engage with architects, structural engineers, consultants, developers and contractors to communicate Acotec's technical capabilities and solutions.
Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to internal teams.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Preferably 3-7 years of relevant engineering experience in construction, precast concrete, IBS, manufacturing, building materials, plant engineering or related industries.
Candidates with experience in both civil/construction and manufacturing/mechanical environments will have an added advantage.
Good understanding of engineering drawings, construction details, technical specifications and project requirements.
Experience with AutoCAD or other relevant engineering/design software.
Familiarity with precast concrete, IBS systems, building construction or construction materials is an advantage.
For the mechanical component, experience in production machinery, automation, preventive maintenance or manufacturing equipment will be advantageous.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Able to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities.
Willing to travel to project sites and manufacturing facilities when required.
Registered/eligible for registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) will be an advantage for the Civil Engineering track.
