Job summary

ST Tunnel (M) Sdn Bhd in Johor seeks a dedicated Civil Engineer to oversee site supervision and manage building and factory developments. You will coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure quality, safety, timelines, and budgets are met.

Responsibilities include site operations, compliance with standards, QC and safety, drawing reviews with AutoCAD, basic land surveying, progress reporting, and liaison with clients and authorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on site supervision experience.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and structural drawings.
• Ability to perform basic land surveying.

• Prepare, review, and modify 2D/3D drawings and structural details using AutoCAD.
• Perform basic land surveying, boundary checks, layout marking, and level verifications on site.
• Review structural calculations, BOQ, and project specifications.
• Report to the Managing Director on progress, milestones, risk assessments, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, councils, and utilities.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated, highly organized, and independent Civil Engineer based in Johor to oversee site supervision and manage factory/building construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with sub-contractors, consultants, and project team members to ensure all construction works strictly adhere to quality, safety standards, timelines, and approved budgets.

Key responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day site operations and manage structural and civil construction works for building/factory developments

Ensure all construction activities comply with local regulatory standards, approved structural blueprints, safety codes, and quality specifications

Conduct regular site inspections, audit works, and enforce strictly quality control (QC) and safety standards on site

Identify potential design or construction risks/bottlenecks early and formulate efficient solutions

Prepare, review, and modify 2D/3D technical drawings, shop drawings, and structural details using AutoCAD

Perform basic land surveying, boundary checks, layout marking, and level verifications on site as needed

Review structural calculations, bill of quantities (BOQ), and project specifications

Report directly to the Managing Director on project progress, key milestones, risk assessments, and resource allocation

Coordinate effectively with clients, architects, structural engineers, sub-contractors, local municipal councils, and utilities providers

Prepare daily/weekly site progress reports, defect lists, and track overall work schedules against timelines

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent (accredited by BEM/Board of Engineers Malaysia is preferred)

Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in site supervision, building construction, or industrial factory developments

High proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory

Hands‑on experience or ability to perform basic land surveying is preferred

Local Johorian preferred or currently residing in Johor

Must possess a valid driving license (Class D) and own transport/car for traveling to project sites

Self‑starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Strong problem‑solving skills, site leadership, and resource management abilities

Multilingual communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an added advantage to liaise with vendors/subcontractors)
