Job summary

Shangri-La Rasa Ria, Kota Kinabalu, is seeking a Junior Sous Chef (Chinese Cuisine) to lead daily operations under the Chinese Chef. You will manage kitchen activities, ensure quality, control costs, and support menu development to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Requirements include relevant kitchen experience, strong supervisory and organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Malaysian candidates only due to local immigration policies.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to plan and organize kitchen operations.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Experience supervising a kitchen team and coordinating tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the Chinese Kitchen under Chinese Chef guidance.
• Ensure high-quality food production across outlets and proper storage.
• Assist with guest inquiries and respond promptly to feedback.
• Control costs and manage wastage, portions, and inventory.
• Support menu development and incorporate Guest feedback into dishes.
• Train and assess team members to maintain brand standards.
• Assist other departments as needed and maintain safety compliance.
