Job summary

Mercure Kota Kinabalu City Centre seeks an experienced accounting professional to lead the finance team and ensure accurate financial reporting in line with hotel policies. The role requires strong leadership and a deep understanding of accounting standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in Accountancy with 4–5 years of related experience and is a member of MIA or ACCA. You will oversee month-end close, tax submission, and monthly reports to management.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Accountancy or relevant is required.
• Must be a registered member of MIA or ACCA.
• 4–5 years of proven experience in similar roles.
• Strong leadership and financial reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end and year-end closing journals.
• Compile financial reports for management per policies.
• Ensure timely and accurate bank reconciliations.
• Check daily bank statements for abnormalities.
• Manage corporate tax compilation and submission.
• Address corporate queries and requests.
• Supervise Finance sections and ensure timely report submission.

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for ensuring timely & accurate financial reporting according to accounting standards and in line with the Hotel's policy & procedures.

Primary Responsibilities - Accounting Procedures

• Prepare month-end & year-end closing journals
• Compile financial reports for management in accordance to policies & procedures
• Ensure bank sheet reconciliations are completed on a timely and accurate manner
• Check daily bank statements for abnormalities
• Manage Corporate tax compilation and submission, ensure accurate payment is made
• Attend to Corporate queries and requests
• Supervise respective Finance sections and ensure timely submission of all related reports and compliance to policy & procedures

• Ensure accuracy and efficiency in the preparation and submission of financial reports.
