Job summary

ATC CLEANTEC SDN. BHD. in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Chemist responsible for laboratory activities including daily titration, periodical testing, and First Article Sample qualification processes.

The role involves performing chemical analysis of material samples, plating solutions, and environmental samples. You will lead quality investigations, drive process improvements across laboratory, environmental facilities, safety, and regulatory compliance, and work closely with production to set up

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience as a Chemist / Process Chemist.
• Experience in manufacturing, metal finishing, anodizing, electroplating or surface treatment.
• Able to perform chemical bath analysis and adjust chemicals based on results.
• Strong knowledge of chemical analysis, titration, lab testing and analytical techniques.
• Able to analyze process data and identify root causes and CAPA.
• Familiar with SDS, chemical risk assessment and chemical waste management.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
• Mandarin is an advantage.
• Hands-on and able to work closely with production and lab.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily titration and periodical testing.
• Review customer specifications for chemical processes with proper process controls.
• Conduct chemical analysis of material samples, plating solutions and environmental samples.
• Investigate quality issues, troubleshoot, and implement corrective actions (CAPA).
• Lead DOE matters and environmental facilities operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements and DOSH inquiries.
• Collaborate with project engineers/production to set up new projects.
• Ensure waste is managed in accordance with legal requirements.

Job description

Senior Chemist responsible for laboratory activities including daily titration, periodical testing, and First Article Sample qualification processes. The role involves performing chemical analysis of material samples, plating solutions and environmental samples, leading quality investigations, and driving process improvements across laboratory, environmental facilities, safety, and regulatory compliance functions.

Key responsibilities

Perform daily titration, periodical testing, and First Article Sample qualification processes

Perform review and gap analysis on customer specifications for chemical processes with adequate process control measures

Perform chemical analysis of material samples, plating solutions and environmental samples

Involve in quality issues investigations, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation

Perform periodical testing in accordance with standards and lead investigations for recovery action on non-conformity

Maintain robust record keeping system and control of laboratory records

Provide periodical training to operation staff for good plating practices and standard procedures on plating bath maintenance

Perform internal audits to ensure process, product and system compliance with requirements

Lead all DOE related matters and environmental facilities operations

Lead all safety related matters and attend DOSH inquiries

To work close with project engineers/ production to set up new projects

Ensure that scheduled waste in the premise is managed properly in accordance with the legal requirements.

To ensure all testing requirement are met by understanding regulatory/ customer’s specifications

About you

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field.

Minimum 2 years of working experience as a Chemist / Process Chemist, preferably in a manufacturing, metal finishing, anodizing, electroplating, surface treatment or chemical processing environment.

Able to perform chemical bath analysis and make chemical adjustments based on test results.

Strong knowledge of chemical analysis, titration, laboratory testing and analytical techniques.

Able to analyze process data and identify root cause and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)

Familiar with SDS, chemical risk assessment and chemical waste management.

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.

Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an advantage.

Must be hands-on and willing to work closely with the production floor and laboratory.
