You will lead NADCAP/AS9100 compliance, oversee lab and materials engineering, mentor engineers, and advance Lean/Six Sigma projects, cost reduction, and productivity improvements while ensuring safety and environmental stewardship.
Lead the development of new plating technologies, with emphasis on Zinc Nickel and other corrosion-resistant coating systems.
Develop and validate new process capabilities supporting aerospace, automotive, and high-reliability industries.
Establish process design standards, specifications, and best practices.
Drive process innovation to improve corrosion performance, productivity, quality, and sustainability.
Evaluate and introduce new chemicals, equipment, automation systems, and process technologies.
Act as the technical authority for Zinc Nickel plating processes.
Optimize critical process parameters including:
Develop plating systems capable of achieving aerospace and customer corrosion requirements.
Improve coating uniformity, adhesion, thickness distribution, and plating efficiency.
Ensure all plating processes comply with:
Lead NADCAP audit preparation, closure of findings, and continuous compliance activities.
Maintain process qualifications, validations, and operator certifications.
Ensure full traceability and process documentation for aerospace products.
Develop qualification plans for new processes and products.
Conduct:
Review and approve process control methods and acceptance criteria.
Establish statistical process controls and monitoring systems.
Lead strategic improvement projects focused on:
Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Drive data-based decision making through statistical analysis.
Support customer qualification programs and audits.
Lead root cause investigations for major quality issues.
Approve corrective and preventive actions for process-related concerns.
Interface directly with customers regarding plating technology and special process requirements.
Oversee laboratory operations related to:
Ensure laboratory methods comply with applicable standards and specifications.
Ensure compliance with:
Lead HIRARC implementation and risk assessments.
Promote safe handling of hazardous chemicals and environmental stewardship.
Lead, mentor, and develop Process Engineers and Technicians.
Establish technical competency development programs.
Manage departmental resources, budgets, and project priorities.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Bachelor's Degree in:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electroplating or surface treatment.
Minimum 3 years in engineering leadership or process development management.
Proven expertise in Zinc Nickel plating technologies.
Experience within AS9100 and NADCAP-accredited manufacturing environments.
Experience supporting aerospace customers, OEMs, or Tier 1 suppliers preferred.
