Pekat RE Maintenance Sdn Bhd, Malaysia, seeks an experienced Chargeman BO (33kV) to lead the operations of a utility-scale solar PV plant. The Control Room Supervisor will oversee real-time monitoring, HV/LV equipment operations, troubleshooting, safety compliance, and field-team coordination.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on HV (33kV) experience, a Chargeman BO certificate, and strong knowledge of protection relays, grid regulations, and SCADA systems.

We are seeking an experienced Chargeman BO (33kV) to lead the operations of a utility-scale solar photovoltaic power plant. The Control Room Supervisor will oversee real-time monitoring, HV/LV equipment operations, troubleshooting, safety compliance, and coordination of field teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operational Leadership & Team Management

Lead and supervise site personnel, including Chargeman, DC Team Lead, Technicians, Administrator, and site workers.

Manage daily site operations, including staff scheduling, attendance, work assignments, and daily morning briefings.

Plan and monitor site maintenance activities, including solar panel cleaning, grass cutting, and drainage maintenance.

2. 33kV HV System Operations & Safety (Competent Person)

Supervise the 33kV HV system, including transformers, switching stations, protection relays, and metering equipment.

Prepare and approve HV switching programmes, issue PTW, and ensure safe switching operations through LOTO procedures.

Manage site safety, conduct daily HSE briefings, enforce PPE requirements, and monitor compliance with safety procedures.

Monitor SCADA, RunDo systems, and dispatch communications on a rotating duty schedule.

Identify and classify equipment faults, natural hazards, and security incidents according to SOP-03 guidelines.

Coordinate with TNB/GSO grid dispatchers and respond to emergencies, including protection trips, communication failures, and grid shutdowns, within the required response time.

Coordinate and monitor DLP defect tracking with EPCC contractors and equipment manufacturers while protecting warranty rights.

Supervise third‑party contractors and security personnel, ensuring compliance with site access, safety, and patrol procedures.

5. Documentation & Formal PDF Reporting

Prepare and submit technical reports on AC/HV systems, facility troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and incident investigations.

Maintain accurate site records, including generation data, weather updates, switching records, and work logs, with real-time client updates.

Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of protection relay systems, PPC, AGC/AVC, grid connection requirements, Electricity Supply Act, and ST/TNB/GSO grid regulations.

Knowledge of solar PV plant operations

Familiarity with SCADA systems, inverters, and power monitoring

Leadership and supervisory skills
