Job summary

Pekat Group in Malaysia seeks a hands-on PV System Maintenance Technician to perform routine inspections of PV modules, structures, and cabling, including thermal imaging and insulation tests.

You will handle corrective and preventive maintenance on inverters, switchgear, and protection devices, support control room alarm validation, and ensure strict adherence to SOP, HSE, and PTW requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
• Physically fit for outdoor work.
• Experience in solar PV systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• PV System Inspection: conduct routine inspection of modules, structures, and cabling; perform thermal imaging and insulation tests.
• Corrective & Preventive Maintenance: replace faulty components and assist in inverter, switchgear maintenance.
• Electrical & Site Work: maintain site safety and respond to emergencies.
• Documentation & Reporting: submit daily maintenance reports and update checklists with test results.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. PV System Inspection

Conduct routine inspection of PV modules, structures, and cabling.

Perform thermal imaging, string voltage checks, and insulation resistance tests.

Identify issues such as hot spots, connector failures, cable damage, shading, or grounding issues.

2. Corrective & Preventive Maintenance

Replace faulty modules, fuses, AC/DC breakers, connectors, and SPD.

Assist in inverter, combiner box, transformer, and switchgear maintenance.

Support control room with alarm validation.

3. Electrical & Site Work

Maintain site housekeeping and safety.

Respond to emergency faults.

4. Documentation & Reporting

Submit daily maintenance reports.

Update checklists, photos, and test results.

Follow SOP, HSE, and PTW requirements.

Skills Required:

Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems

Physically fit for outdoor work

Experience in solar PV systems (preferred)
