Job summary

IOTA GROUP is seeking an experienced Certifying Staff B1.3 for a Kuala Lumpur-based MRO, CAAM Part 145 approved, to lead base and heavy maintenance certification on the H225. You will certify CRS, review tasks by B1/B2 staff and ensure compliance with AMM, SB, AD and CAAM requirements.

The role demands 8+ years helicopter maintenance experience, 5+ years on H225/EC225/AS332, active CA and CRS authority, and strong leadership. Bahasa Malaysia fluency is valued for local team leadership and audits.

Qualifications

• EASA Part 66 C licence or B1.3 with senior certifying engineer responsibilities.
• CAAM recognition or licence conversion – mandatory.
• Active Certification Authorisation (CA) covering H225 base maintenance – mandatory.
• CRS sign-off authority – mandatory.
• Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering preferred, or recognised aviation qualification.
• Minimum 8 years helicopter maintenance experience.
• Minimum 5 years on H225/EC225/AS332 platforms.
• Experience certifying base maintenance work packages as Category C or senior B1.3.
• Offshore oil & gas MRO experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for troubleshooting and dispositions on defects.
• Liaise with Design Organisations and OEM on engineering queries.
• Support and supervise planning, execution and release of scheduled C- and D-checks.
• Ensure maintenance records and technical logbooks are accurate and regulatory-compliant.
• Mentor Certifying Staff B1.3 and CA scopes.
• Participate in CAAM audits, customer audits and internal reviews.
• Contribute to development and update of maintenance procedures and local work orders.

Job description

Our client is a leading MRO organisation based in Kuala Lumpur, operating under CAAM Part 145 approval. The organisation provides heavy maintenance, component overhaul and line maintenance services, primarily the H225, serving offshore oil & gas operators across Asia-Pacific.

The Certifying Staff B1.3 is a key contributor to airworthiness assurance. Holding an active Certification Authorisation (CA), the technician independently signs Certificates of Release to Service (CRS) following scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.

Job Description

• Issue Certificates of Release to Service (CRS) for base and heavy maintenance work packages on H225
• Review, approve and certify completed maintenance tasks performed by B1/B2 Certifying Staff
• Oversee technical compliance of maintenance activities against AMM, SB, AD and CAAM requirements
• Act as the technical authority for troubleshooting and engineering dispositions on complex defects

• Participate in CAAM authority audits, customer audits and internal quality reviews

Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications

• EASA Part 66 Category C licence — or B1.3 with demonstrated senior certifying engineer responsibilities
• CAAM recognition or conversion of the above licence — Mandatory
• Active Certification Authorisation (CA) covering H225 base maintenance — Mandatory
• CRS sign-off authority currently valid — Mandatory

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering — preferred
• Equivalent recognised aviation engineering qualification accepted

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience in helicopter maintenance
• Minimum 5 years on H225 / EC225 / AS332 platforms
• Demonstrated experience certifying base maintenance work packages as Category C or senior B1.3
• Familiarity with Makila 2A1 power plant — strong asset
• Prior experience in offshore oil & gas MRO environment — highly valued

Technical Skills

• Expert knowledge of Airbus Helicopters technical documentation (AMM, IPC, SRM, SB, AD, EMM)
• Solid understanding of CAAM Part M, Part 145 and associated regulations
• Experience with MRO management systems (AMOS, SAP or equivalent)
• Ability to interpret and apply engineering orders and OEM dispositions
• Familiarity with reliability programmes and root cause analysis methodology
