Job summary

YTL Cement Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a Laboratory Technician to plan and coordinate laboratory operations in line with the quality control plan. You will perform sampling, run daily tests on products and raw materials, and prepare timely test reports.

The role requires basic education (SPM or higher), willingness to work shifts (including nights), and an understanding of cement mill processes, testing standards, and ISO management systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or higher in any field from a recognised institution.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Candidates with at least one year of experience in cement manufacturing or heavy industry will have an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform sampling for laboratory testing.
• Conduct daily physical tests on products and raw materials and assess product quality against established targets.
• Prepare daily test reports and promptly report test results to all relevant personnel or departments.
• Perform laboratory equipment maintenance.
• Understand and comply with all Management System requirements.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure safety and health standards are upheld in the laboratory at all times.
• Informing superiors of abnormality or non-conformity in the laboratory areas.
• Carry out any other duties/tasks required by superiors from time to time.
