Job summary

YTL Cement Berhad seeks a Process Engineer to lead technical support for operations and projects, applying chemical/process expertise to optimise clinker and cement production using alternative materials and fuels.

The role focuses on improving efficiency, reliability, safety compliance, and consistent product quality through data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration. Travel within Malaysia may be required.

Qualifications

BSc degree in Chemical/Process/Bioprocess/ Mineral/Material/Petroleum/Environmental Engineering.
1 year minimum experience in industrial/project management/consultancy (cement, lime, construction or heavy industries).
Knowledge of DOSH, DOE, Nuclear Malaysia, ST and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9002, 14001, 50001).
Familiarity with CFD and MATLAB applications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI and relevant AI applications for data analytics.

Responsibilities

Lead process engineering audits including heat and mass balance evaluations, debottlenecking and grinding process optimisation.
Review technical specifications for new equipment sizing and modifications to meet capacity and efficiency goals.
Maintain a centralised process engineering database with benchmarking data and historians.
Lead plant trials, commissioning, process control optimisation and performance testing.
Develop process engineering competencies through structured training and knowledge sharing.
