Job summary

One Gasmaster Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a Calibration Lab Technician/Engineer (HQ/Johor) to assist Technical, Service, and Calibration Engineers in laboratory and on-site calibration activities. You will perform checks on customer units upon receipt and before return, and carry out calibration work in both lab and field.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering is required.
• Ability to write service reports in English.
• Safety knowledge for on-site work (CIDB & NIOSH where applicable).
• Willingness to follow supervisor instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist Technical, Service, and Calibration Engineers in laboratory and on-site calibration activities.
• Perform physical and functionality checks on customer units upon receipt and before return.
• Carry out calibration work in the laboratory and at customer sites as required.
• Troubleshoot, service, and maintain instruments, including battery charging, inspection/replacement of sensor filters, batteries, sensors, and related components.
• Perform basic soldering work for internal batteries and electrical components.
• Clean battery contacts, PCB boards, and other equipment components as required.
• Advise customers on technical enquiries and provide basic technical support where necessary.
• Record incoming and outgoing customer units in the RMA software system.
• Prepare service reports based on inspection findings and calibration results.
• Record and photograph incoming/outgoing units, including any damage identified on customer equipment.
• Fill in calibration data, generate calibration certificates, and prepare calibration stickers.
• Email principals for warranty claims and RMA requests, including foreign calibration arrangements.
• Prepare, pack, and label equipment for local calibration or service purposes.
• Assist Laboratory Manager in ISO/IEC 17025 compliance and documentation.

ISO/IEC 17025 Compliance

Assist the Laboratory Manager (LM) in ensuring laboratory technical operations comply with the ISO/IEC 17025 Management System.

Support ISO/IEC 17025 documentation, including intermediate checks, gas checklists, complaints, and non-conformance (NC) work.

Follow laboratory procedures, quality requirements, and safety guidelines at all times.

Desired qualifications and experience:

Certificate Diploma/Degree in Engineering

Service capability for portable/fixed/respective department items

Safety knowledge on the job and at site (CIDB & NIOSH passport)

Ability to write service report in English

Able to follow instructions from Superior
