Job summary

SAM Engineering & Equipment (M) Bhd is seeking a Materials Planning & Procurement professional to support production planning, manage material availability, and optimize inventory across suppliers in Penang. You will issue POs, monitor deliveries, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely supply.

The ideal candidate holds a diploma in any discipline with at least 2 years in Purchasing or Material Planning in manufacturing, and demonstrates strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational

Qualifications

• Diploma in any discipline with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Purchasing, Buyer, Material Planning, or Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and procure materials to support production schedules and customer demand.
• Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor supplier deliveries to ensure on-time supply.
• Coordinate with approved vendors on pricing, quality, lead time, and order confirmations.
• Monitor inventory levels, stock aging, and inventory turns to optimize material availability.
• Follow up on outstanding orders, expedite urgent deliveries, and manage rejected or non-conforming materials.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and evaluate supplier performance.
• Support Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory initiatives and continuous process improvements.
• Perform purchasing administration, including PO documentation and record maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
