Business Analyst – Finance

Job summary

Apical in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Finance/Business Analysis professional to manage global inventory reporting by product, country and business. You will monitor inventory levels, ageing, excess and slow-moving inventory while working with Sales and Supply Chain to identify risks.

Analysing margins by product and market and supporting monthly financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis will be core. SAP/ERP and Power BI experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• 3–5 years of relevant Finance / Business Analysis experience.
• Experience in trading and/or manufacturing environments preferred.
• Strong analytical, Excel and financial reporting skills.
• SAP / ERP and Power BI experience is an advantage.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain global inventory reports by product, country and business.
• Monitor inventory levels, ageing, excess and slow-moving inventory.
• Work with Sales and Supply Chain teams to identify and reduce inventory risks.
• Monitor global position levels and risk exposures.
• Maintain position reports and highlight positions exceeding agreed risk levels.
• Work with Product Managers, Sales and Supply Chain to manage position risks.
• Analyse margins by product, destination / market and business.
• Identify margin gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Work with Product Managers and Sales teams to improve margins and profitability.
• Track and report margin improvement actions.
• Support monthly financial reporting and business performance analysis.
• Analyse Revenue, Volume, GP / EBITDA against Budget, Forecast and Prior Year.
• Prepare management reports and highlight key variances and business drivers
• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Coordinate with Product Managers and business teams to prepare and validate assumptions.
• Monitor actual performance against Budget and Forecast and highlight key variances.
• Support and lead assigned finance digitalisation and automation projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data quality and business visibility.
• Drive process improvements within Finance and business reporting processes.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and assignments requested by management.
• Provide timely business insights and analysis to support management decision-making.
