Job summary

Pioneer Coachbuilders Sdn Bhd is seeking a design engineer to develop and refine bus body structures, components, and assemblies. You will create 2D and 3D CAD models for production and ensure compliance with safety and company standards.

The role involves collaboration with production, procurement and quality teams, conducting design reviews, and supporting prototype development and testing. Independent work and timely delivery are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of design engineering experience (bus/automotive preferred).
• Proficient in CAD software AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA or similar.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Familiar with safety standards and industry regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design bus body structures, components, and assemblies.
• Prepare 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for production.
• Ensure designs comply with safety standards, regulations, and company specifications.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Conduct design reviews and implement improvements based on feedback.
• Support prototype development and testing activities.
• Prepare technical documentation, BOM (Bill of Materials), and engineering reports.
• Assist in troubleshooting design-related issues during production.
