GoldSilver Central Pte Ltd in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced settlements professional to manage end-to-end lifecycle from trade to trial balance. You will work with a Singapore entity backoffice team on financial control, reconciling physical and hedge books and ensuring books truthfully reflect metal owned vs client holdings.
You will settle bullion, spot, forward and swap transactions, reconcile margined positions, and support month-end closings.
You own the back office for a metals trading business, end to end: making sure every trade settles, every position reconciles, and the books tell the truth about metal we own versus metal we hold for clients. You will be based in Kuala Lumpur, working on the Singapore entity's books alongside a Singapore-based backoffice (finance and trader) team. This is a broad role where settlements and financial control sit together, which means you see the whole chain from trade to trial balance.
Settle physical, spot, forward and swap transactions across all business lines, on loco London conventions — T+2 value dates, fine ounces for gold and gross ounces for silver, and correct application of location, fineness and form differentials
Reconcile the bridge between physical book and hedge book: kilobar and retail product positions against loco London equivalents, with premiums and location differentials identified separately from flat price
Reconcile liquidity provider statements daily — open positions, margin utilisation, financing and rollover charges, realised and unrealised P&L — and flag margin calls before they bite
Settle refinery and scrap flows: track consignments from despatch to assay outturn, reconcile declared fine content against outturn, and chase the difference
Administer metal lease and borrowing positions denominated in ounces, including accrued lease interest and repayment in metal
Reconcile house metal position against client-owned metal, and ensure client metal is identified as client property in both the ledger and the vault records
Own the break log: root cause, ageing, escalation
Month-end close for the Singapore entity, and support the close of related companies
Metal inventory valuation, savings-program liability revaluation at month-end pricing, and metal lease obligations denominated in ounces
Degree in Accountancy, Finance or equivalent; ACCA, CPA or MICPA an advantage
3 years in settlements, trade support, treasury operations or financial control — in commodities, bullion, FX or derivatives
Hands-on experience reconciling counterparty or broker statements and margined derivative positions
Bullion settlement specifically — loco London conventions, allocated versus unallocated accounts, LBMA Good Delivery, fine versus gross ounce accounting, location and quality swaps, refinery outturn reconciliation, metal leasing
Experience closing books for a Singapore or regional entity, and working knowledge of SFRS(I) or IFRS — particularly financial instruments, inventories and FX
Strong Excel and experience in an accounting ERP — and the ability to specify what you need from a system rather than work around it
A breaks-driven temperament: precise, curious about differences, and comfortable being the only settlements person in the room
