Job summary

ECS Facility Management Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Building Technician to join our Seri Kembangan team in Selangor. This full-time position focuses on routine maintenance, inspections, and repair of building systems to ensure safe, efficient operations for occupants.

You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems, troubleshoot faults, and maintain thorough records. A proactive, safety-conscious mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification or certification in building maintenance, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of experience as Building Technician, Facilities Technician, or similar in commercial/industrial settings.
• Solid knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, fire safety, and general building infrastructure.
• Proficiency with maintenance and diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and repair issues from occupants and management.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools.
• Carry out repairs and component replacements, adhering to safety standards.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, repairs, and spare parts used.
• Collaborate with contractors and external service providers for specialist maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and OH&S requirements.
• Monitor building systems performance and suggest efficiency improvements.
• Assist with facility upgrade and improvement projects as required.

ECS Facility Management Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled and reliable Building Technician to join our dynamic facilities management team in Seri Kembangan, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of building systems and infrastructure. As a Building Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, inspection, and repair of building mechanical, electrical, and structural systems. This role is crucial to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and efficient working environment for all building occupants and reflects our commitment to excellence in facilities management.

What you'll be doing

Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety equipment

Responding promptly to maintenance requests and repair issues reported by building occupants and management

Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment

Carrying out repairs and replacements of faulty components whilst adhering to safety standards and best practices

Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance work, repairs completed, and spare parts utilised

Collaborating with contractors and external service providers for specialist maintenance and repairs beyond in-house capabilities

Ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and occupational health and safety requirements

Monitoring and reporting on building systems performance and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency

Assisting with facility upgrades and improvement projects as required

What we’re looking for

Formal qualification or certification in building maintenance, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline

Proven experience of at least 2-3 years working as a Building Technician, Facilities Technician, or in a similar maintenance role within commercial or industrial buildings

Sound knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, fire safety, and general building infrastructure

Proficiency in using maintenance and diagnostic tools and equipment

Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with building occupants, management, and external contractors

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation

Physical fitness and ability to undertake physically demanding tasks, including working at heights where necessary

Valid driving licence and willingness to travel between multiple sites if required

Knowledge of building management systems (BMS) or computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) is advantageous

Relevant professional certifications such as certification in air conditioning servicing or electrical systems is preferred
