Private Advertiser is seeking a facilities/IT/AV technician in Malaysia to maintain building systems and provide IT/AV support for daily operations, meetings, training, and events. The role covers electrical, HVAC and plumbing upkeep, plus set-up of AV and conferencing equipment.
The candidate should have 2–3 years’ experience in facility or administrative operations, familiarity with hotel building management, and good organizational and interpersonal skills.
To support the EPH Gas Turbine Skills Training Centre in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance and administration of the Centre's building facilities, IT infrastructure and audio-visual systems. The role is responsible for carrying out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance works for building systems and equipment, while also providing reliable technical support for IT and AV systems to ensure safe, efficient and uninterrupted operations during daily activities, meetings, training programmes and corporate events.
Maintain lighting, power points, switches, distribution boards and wiring
Attend to electrical faults within the building and replace lights, ballasts, sockets and breakers
Perform routine checks on air-conditioning systems, AHU, FCU and ventilation fans
Repair leaking pipes, taps, valves, WC flush systems, urinals and floor traps
Carry out minor repairs for doors, locks, hinges, tiles, ceilings, walls, partitions and furniture
Set up, operate and maintain AV equipment including microphones, speakers, projectors, LED screens and video conferencing systems
Provide first-level IT support for staff, trainers and guests involving hardware, software and network-related issues
Maintain updated inventory records for IT, AV and maintenance equipment
Follow all safe work procedures, PPE requirements and SHEQ compliance standards
Provide technical support during corporate visits, VIP engagements, training programmes and events
Vocational Technical certificate or Diploma in M&E and Information Technology, Computer Science, or Audio-Visual Technology
2–3 years of experience in facility or administrative operations, preferably in hospitality hotel industry or institutional settings
Familiarity with basic hotel building management and vendor coordination
Good organizational and multitasking skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
Basic knowledge of facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing and sound system)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic IT applications
Ability to work independently and respond effectively to technical issues and operational requirements
Safety-conscious and responsible in carrying out technical and maintenance work
Note: This is an outsourced position on a one-year contract basis
