Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent.

• Extensive experience in the marine industry.

• Fluent in English and bilingual in another language.

Job description

Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for the Malaysia branches, ensuring sustainable business growth and alignment with the company's objectives. Oversee and coordinate Malaysia operations while supporting Singapore activities, ensuring effective cross-border collaboration and seamless delivery of customer and business commitments. Take overall ownership of branch operational performance, including service quality, productivity, cost efficiency, profitability, and achievement of business targets. Lead and develop a high-performing team through effective manpower planning, coaching, performance management, and hands‑on leadership. Serve as the key escalation point for critical operational, commercial, financial, and stakeholder matters, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement across the branches.

Key responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and direction for the Malaysia branches, balancing strategic growth, operational execution, and commercial performance

Oversee cross‑border operations, ensuring strong alignment between Malaysia (approx. 60% focus) and Singapore (approx. 40% support) to meet business and customer commitments

Drive business growth by developing customer relationships, strengthening supplier partnerships, and expanding the branch's service capabilities

Take ownership of branch performance across service delivery, operational efficiency, cost control, and profitability, ensuring consistent achievement of business targets

Remain actively involved in key operational and commercial matters, providing hands‑on support to resolve issues, close gaps, and ensure execution excellence

Lead commercial negotiations and manage key contracts with customers, vendors, and service providers to optimise value and operational outcomes

Identify and execute business development opportunities, process improvements, and cost optimisation initiatives aligned with company strategy

Build and lead a high‑performing team through hands‑on leadership, coaching, manpower planning, and performance management

Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards across all branch activities

Manage branch financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost governance

About you

Degree or equivalent

Proven setting up a Malaysia branch/operation leadership with Profit & Loss ownership.

Relatively a good number of years of working experience in marine industry

Good working knowledge and experience with MS office, Outlook and systems (e.g., AX, portent, marinet)

Ability of fluent communication in English and bilingual in another language

Hands‑on cross‑functional leadership and execution.

Good judgment with analytical skill
