Job summary

PERSOL Malaysia in Banting, Selangor is seeking a mature, independent Branch Manager to oversee the daily operations of our hardware retail branch. You will lead a team, drive sales, and ensure top customer service.

The ideal candidate has strong people management, retail leadership, and a track record of achieving targets. Willing to travel within Klang Valley for occasional assignments.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Retail Management or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with team management and retail sales exposure.
• Experience in retail, hardware, home improvement or related industries is an advantage.
• Strong sales mindset with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
• Mature, independent, responsible and hands-on personality.

Responsibilities

• Lead the branch team to consistently achieve monthly sales targets.
• Drive sales of high-margin products and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
• Monitor branch sales performance and motivate the team to achieve targets.
• Support both in-store and outdoor sales activities.
• Ensure product pricing, displays and merchandising meet company standards.
• Oversee daily branch operations, including opening/closing, cash handling, merchandising and administrative activities.
• Manage operating expenses and ensure effective cost control.
• Monitor staff productivity and improve overall branch performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and operational standards.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth branch operations.
• Lead, coach and motivate the branch team to achieve business objectives.
• Plan manpower requirements and staff schedules according to business needs.
• Monitor employee performance, productivity and attendance.
• Support recruitment and onboarding activities together with HR.
• Provide on-the-job coaching and training to new and existing staff.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate stock ordering.
• Oversee incoming and outgoing stock movements and maintain proper records.
• Prepare stock reports and monitor stock conditions.
• Implement measures to minimize stock loss and wastage.
• Ensure excellent customer service and customer satisfaction.
• Handle customer enquiries, complaints and operational issues professionally.
• Develop strong product knowledge and provide suitable solutions to customers.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and merchandise presentation.
• Prepare sales and operational reports for management.
• Undertake other ad-hoc duties or projects assigned by management.
