Job summary

Paragon Paper & Plywood Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a qualified boilerman to operate and monitor high-pressure boilers in its manufacturing plant. You will ensure continuous steam supply, start-up/shutdown, and load adjustments while adhering to safety standards.

You'll inspect and maintain boilers, manage water treatment and fuel handling, keep logs, and coordinate with maintenance and production to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Mandatory boiler certification: Grade 2 Boiler Attendant Certificate.
• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent (preferred).
• At least 3 years of experience operating high-pressure boilers in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and control high-pressure boilers.
• Ensure continuous steam supply per production requirements.
• Start-up, shutdown and load adjustments.
• Monitor pressure, temperature, water level, fuel consumption and emissions.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure water treatment, blowdown and fuel handling practices.
• Maintain daily logbooks, shift records and compliance documents.
• Detect faults, troubleshoot issues and take corrective actions.
• Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with Factory Act, Boiler Act and safety standards.
• Supervise and guide junior boilermen or operators if required.

Job description

Perform boiler start-up, shutdown, and load adjustments

Monitor pressure, temperature, water level, fuel consumption, and emissions

Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance of boilers and auxiliaries

Ensure proper water treatment, blowdown, and fuel handling practices

Maintain daily logbooks, shift records, and statutory compliance documents

Detect faults, troubleshoot operational issues, and take corrective actions

Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime

Ensure compliance with Factory Act, Boiler Act, and safety standards

Supervise and guide junior boilermen or operators, if required

Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory: Boilerman / Boiler Attendant Grade 2 Certificate from a competent authority

Education: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent (preferred)

Experience: 3+ years of experience operating high-pressure boilers in a manufacturing plant

Technical Skills
