Job summary

Outspan Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Gelang Patah, Johor, is seeking a skilled Boiler Operator to monitor LNG steam boilers, maintain energy efficiency, and ensure safe operation within established procedures.

The role requires a Certified Boilerman Grade 1 and at least 3 years of related manufacturing experience; experience with food manufacturing is a plus. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform preventive maintenance, and document operating parameters in the Boiler Log Book.

Responsibilities

• Monitor LNG steam boilers and related systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Track and adjust operating parameters such as pressure, temperature, fuel use, and feed-water quality; take corrective action as needed.
• Operate LNG gas supply and combustion system within the authorized scope.
• Conduct routine inspections for gas leaks, abnormal pressure and safety hazards; escalate abnormalities per site procedures.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers and utilities; troubleshoot breakdowns.
• Respond promptly to boiler or utility breakdowns to minimise downtime and production losses.
• Maintain accurate records in the Boiler Log Book (operating parameters, LNG/fuel consumption, maintenance, breakdowns).
• Ensure compliance with DOSH/JKKP regulations, site safety rules, permit-to-work, LOTO, and EHS standards.

Job description

Monitor, maintain and operate LNG steam boilers and associated boiler systems to ensure safe, reliable and energy-efficient operation.

Monitor boiler operating parameters including steam pressure, temperature, water level, fuel consumption, combustion efficiency and feed-water quality and take corrective action when abnormalities occur.

Operate and monitor the LNG gas supply and combustion system, including gas pressure, burners, valves, regulators, safety interlocks and associated equipment within the authorised scope of the role.

Conduct routine inspections and checks for gas leakage, abnormal pressure, unusual combustion conditions and other potential safety hazards and immediately escalation abnormalities according to site emergency prcedures.

Operate and maintain utilities equipment including water softener systems, pumps, chillers, AHU, cooling tower, air compressors and other utility equipment as assigned.

Carry out scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers and associated utility equipment and troubleshoot breakdowns where required.

Respond promptly to boiler or utility breakdowns to minimise operational interruption and production downtime.

Maintain accurate records in the Boiler Log Book, including operating parameters, LNG/Fuel consumption, maintenance activities, breakdowns and abnormal conditions.

Ensure boiler operation complies with applicable DOSH/JKKP requirements statutory regulations, site safety requirements, permit-to-work procedures, LOTO and company EHS standards.

Coordinate preparations and follow-up with contractors and relevant authorities for statutory boiler inspections.

Qualification and Skills Requirement :
