Job summary

Bar Council Malaysia is seeking a Pantry Assistant to support the Advocates & Solicitors Disciplinary Board. You will prepare drinks for the Director, assist with pantry operations, stock management, cleaning, and meal preparation for Board meetings.

Fresh graduates and candidates with 1–2 years in F&B are welcome. The role requires physical work, long hours including weekends, and strict adherence to hygiene standards. Competitive remuneration is offered.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in food and beverage or kitchen operations (fresh candidates welcome).
• Basic ability to prepare drinks.
• Basic knowledge of food handling, hygiene and safety standards in Malaysia.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
• Maintain cleanliness and organise pantry and workplace.
• Punctual with good attendance; strong communication; able to multitask; long hours including weekends if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drinks for the Director, committee members, Board Members, and Secretariat staff.
• Assist with stock handling: monitor stock, order supplies, receive and store ingredients.
• Clean and sanitize plates, glassware, equipment, countertops and office areas.
• Dismantle unused document bundles, segregate papers, and oversee shredding processes.
• Disposal of waste in office, segregate garbage and manage basement disposal.
• Prepare menus for Board meetings and liaise with vendors for items and delivery.
• Do basic food prep as needed and ensure access to clean tools during meals.
• Handle other duties as directed by the Director of the Complaints Secretariat/Disciplinary Board/Malaysian Bar.
