Job summary

Samsung C&T (KL) Sdn Bhd seeks a BMS Engineer for a data centre project in Malaysia. The role coordinates, supervises, and supports installation, integration, testing and commissioning of BMS to meet project requirements and operational standards.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in BMS/BAS and be familiar with BACnet/Modbus, reading drawings, and coordinating with M&E and other systems. This is a contract position located in Puncak Alam.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in BMS/BAS or Building Automation systems.
• Experience in data centre, commercial or industrial projects is an advantage.
• Familiarity with testing, commissioning and integrated systems testing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review BMS drawings, specs, control philosophies and I/O schedules.
• Coordinate BMS works with M&E, electrical, mechanical, and other systems.
• Supervise installation of BMS controllers, sensors, actuators, panels and networks.
• Coordinate BMS integration with HVAC, electrical monitoring, fire alarm and other systems.
• Conduct and support point-to-point testing, functional testing and IST.
• Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate rectification of defects.
• Monitor installation progress, quality and compliance with drawings and specs.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams.
• Review testing records, as-built drawings, O&M manuals and handover docs.

We are looking for a BMS Engineer to join our data centre project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, supervising, and supporting the installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of the Building Management System (BMS) to ensure compliance with project requirements and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review BMS drawings, specifications, control philosophies, and I/O schedules.
• Coordinate BMS works with M&E, electrical, mechanical, and other specialist systems.
• Supervise installation of BMS controllers, sensors, actuators, control panels, and communication networks.
• Coordinate BMS integration with HVAC, electrical monitoring, fire alarm, and other relevant systems.
• Conduct and support point-to-point testing, functional testing, and integrated systems testing (IST).
• Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate rectification of defects and commissioning problems.
• Monitor installation progress, quality, and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
• Review testing records, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, Building Services, or a related field.
• Minumum 5 years experience in BMS, BAS, or Building Automation systems.
• Experience in data centre, commercial building, or industrial projects is an advantage.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls, PLC/DDC systems, and communication protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
• Familiarity with testing, commissioning, and integrated systems testing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Good coordination, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
