Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is recruiting an experienced T&C Lead for data centre projects. You will formulate and manage the master Testing & Commissioning strategy, schedules, and operational workflows, coordinating with Project Managers, consultants, specialist contractors, equipment vendors, and client representatives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, 10+ years in construction with a strong focus on M&E T&C, and proven data centre delivery experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of construction experience focused on T&C for M&E systems.
• Hands-on data centre delivery experience required.
• In-depth knowledge of critical infrastructure including UPS, generators, BMS, ELV, HVAC, fire protection and electrical distribution.
• Track record leading T&C schedules for large-scale developments.
• Strong understanding of international commissioning standards and QESH regulations.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and manage the master T&C strategy, schedules, and workflows for complex data centre projects.
• Oversee end-to-end T&C lifecycle including pre-commissioning, IST, performance verification, and client acceptance.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, consultants, specialists, vendors, and client representatives as primary T&C liaison.
• Audit drawings, method statements, and ITPs to ensure compliance with specs and codes.
• Track commissioning progress, resolve on-site bottlenecks, and manage punch list closeout for on-time handover.
• Review and sign off on test reports, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.
• Enforce Quality, Environmental, Safety & Health standards while mentoring the team.

• T&C Strategy & Execution: Formulate and manage the master Testing & Commissioning strategy, schedules, and operational workflows for complex Data Centre projects.
• M&E Systems Management: Oversee the end-to-end T&C lifecycle—including pre-commissioning, Integrated Systems Testing (IST), performance verification, and final client acceptance.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary T&C liaison between Project Managers, consultants, specialist contractors, equipment vendors, and client representatives.
• Technical Review & Quality Control: Audit design drawings, method statements, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) to guarantee strict adherence to project specifications and relevant codes.
• Issue Resolution & Punch List Closeout: Track commissioning progress, resolve on-site technical bottlenecks, and manage punch list clearance to ensure on-time handover.
• Documentation & Handover Approval: Review and sign off on all test reports, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and final closeout documentation.
• QESH Compliance & Leadership: Enforce Quality, Environmental, Safety & Health standards across all T&C activities while mentoring and directing the commissioning team.

• Industry Experience: Minimum 10 years of construction experience, with a heavy focus on managing T&C for M&E systems.
• Domain Expertise: Hands‑on experience delivering Data Centre projects is strictly required.
• Technical Proficiency: In‑depth knowledge of critical infrastructure, including UPS systems, generators, BMS, ELV, HVAC, fire protection, and electrical distribution.
• Project Scale: Demonstrated track record of leading T&C schedules and programmes for large‑scale developments.
• Standards & Compliance: Solid grasp of international commissioning standards, quality control procedures, and QESH regulations.
• Leadership & Drive: Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and analytical problem‑solving skills with the ability to operate independently under tight deadlines.
