Job summary

JUlies Marketing Sdn Bhd in Alor Gajah, Melaka, seeks a seasoned R&D/Product Development leader to drive new biscuit products from concept to market. You will manage cross-functional teams, ensure regulatory compliance and halal standards, and push innovative formulations while controlling costs and timelines.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in food product development, strong leadership and project management skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Possess at least Degree/Master/PhD in Food Science Technology/Nutrition or equivalent, with at least 15 years related working experience, preferably in food manufacturing environment.
• Strong product development experience in mass-volume biscuit or bakery products.
• Knowledge of formulations, baking technology, raw material functions and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to embrace innovation in new product development with materials and technology advances.
• Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving and people management skills.
• Excellent communication across all organizational levels.
• Effective time management, project planning, and analytical abilities.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional process from concept to commercialization based on market trends and consumer insights.
• Design, develop and optimize new products and processes for biscuit production up to packaging.
• Verify supplier ingredients for regulatory, quality, cost, and handling considerations.
• Advise QA/Production/Packing on maintaining quality standards and consistency.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, halal requirements, brand values and consumer expectations.
• Oversee R&D-related quality objectives, food safety and occupational health & safety systems.
• Build and mentor a small team, with development plans and succession planning.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or company.
