Job summary

Grand Dynamic Builders Sdn Bhd is seeking a Design Engineer to lead BIM-based modelling and project coordination on construction projects. The role involves delivering 3D models, shop drawings, and alternative designs while ensuring alignment with project requirements, schedules and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a degree/advanced diploma in a relevant engineering field with 3–6 years of building/construction experience and proficiency in BIM software.

Qualifications

• Degree/Advanced Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, Building Technology or Construction Management.
• 3–6 years of experience in building/construction, preferably in planning roles.
• For Design Engineer, experience with BIM software.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with focus on quality management.
• Dynamic, team player, and able to motivate others toward goals.
• Exposure to turnkey projects is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with Primavera or other project management tools is beneficial.
• Proficient with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• To implement BIM system across projects and ensure QESHMS compliance.
• To liaise with Client, Client’s Representatives, PMs, Consultants, authorities, Sub-Contractors, and Suppliers to ensure BIM works meet requirements.
• To troubleshoot proactively and address potential problems.
• To interact with internal departments to facilitate smooth BIM operations.
• To assist the Superior in technical matters and establish BIM standards and guidelines.
• To carry out 3D modelling for construction projects and produce shop drawings and alternative designs.
• To undertake any other duties as instructed by the Superior.

Job description

• To implement all policies, activities, procedures, instructions, as relevant and required by the Quality, Environmental, Safety & Health Management System (QESHMS).
• To implement the Building Information Modeling (BIM) system throughout the project.
• To liaise and correspond with Client, Client’s Representatives, Project Managers, Consultants, Authorities, Sub-Contractors, Suppliers to ensure BIM work are carried out as per the project’s requirement.
• To overall trouble shoot, foresee problems and address them.
• To interact with internal departments/individuals to facilitate the smooth running of BIM.
• To assist the Superior in all technical related issues and assist in establishing BIM standards and guidelines.
• To carry out 3D modelling works for construction projects and supporting the production of shop drawings, alternative designs, etc.
• To undertake any and all other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the Superior.

• Possess Degree/Advanced Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering/Building Technology/Construction Management or its equivalent.
• With minimum 3 - 6 years’ working experience preferably from a building and construction industry in a similar position, preferably in planning assignments.
• For the post of Design Engineer, the candidate shall have experience in BIM software.
• Conversant in bilingual languages, namely English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Have good leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with strong inclination towards quality management practices
• Must be dynamic, a team player, committed and result-oriented.
• Must have the ability and personality to drive and motivate team to achieve common goals.
• Exposure in turnkey projects will be an added advantage.
• Relevant working knowledge in Primavera or other project management software is advantageous.
• Preferably to be computer literate and familiar with MS Office Applications
