Job summary

Tecomet, Inc. in Malaysia is seeking a skilled bending technician to form metal sheets and components per blueprints and specifications. The role involves operating manual and CNC bending machines, set‑ups, quality checks, and strict adherence to safety and 5S standards.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years' experience with bending machines and sheet metal operations, with medical device experience considered an advantage. This is a production‑floor position based in Penang, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• SPM holder or certificate in Machining.
• Minimum 3 years experience with bending machines and sheet metal operations.
• Medical device experience is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Operate bending machines (manual and CNC) to form metal sheets and components per blueprints.
• Set up dies, adjust pressure, and prepare machines for production.
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality.
• Identify and report machine issues to maintenance personnel.
• Maintain 5S in own work cell.
• Perform self‑quality checks and meet output/yield targets.
• Document production and quality logs at start of shift.
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
• Ensure good quality products leave manufacturing to be shipped to customer.
• Participate in quality improvement projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include, but are not limited to the following:

• Using a variety of bending machines, including manual and CNC machines, to form metal sheets and components according to blueprints and specifications.
• Carrying out various metal fabrication tasks, including bending, rolling, and forming, as needed.
• Preparing the bending machine for production by setting up dies, adjusting pressure, and making other necessary adjustments
• Inspecting the finished bent parts for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet the required specifications.
• Identifying and resolving minor machine issues, and reporting more serious problems to maintenance personnel.
• Maintain 5S for own work cell area.
• Operate equipment and machine per work‑instruction and safety requirement.
• Perform own self‑quality check on product been produced.
• Meet personal output target and yield target.
• Perform equipment and machine health and setup check at start of shift. Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
• Ensure correct, good quality products are only allowed to leave manufacturing to be shipped to customer.
• Participate in quality improvement project.
