Job summary

Shiseido in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Retail Development Specialist to drive sales across assigned counters, lead Beauty consultants, and ensure premium customer experiences. You will manage stock, events, and partnerships with retailers, delivering strong performance and retail execution.

With 3–5 years in beauty or luxury retail, you will coach teams, implement training, and optimize merchandising and promotions to boost market share and customer engagement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in beauty, cosmetics, skincare, luxury retail, FMCG, or related industries.
• Experience managing multiple retail locations and field operations.
• Experience leading, motivating, and developing frontline retail teams.
• Experience working with retailer partners and managing store performance.
• Prestige beauty industry experience is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Drive achievement of retail sales targets and KPIs across assigned stores and territories.
• Monitor sales performance, identify opportunities and gaps, and implement action plans to improve results.
• Support and guide Beauty consultants in maximizing sales productivity and customer conversion.
• Work with the Sales & Operations Manager on stock planning and replenishment requirements.
• Conduct regular business reviews and store performance analyses.
• Build and maintain relationships with retailer management, floor managers, and key stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for business growth, market share expansion, and productivity improvement.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, productivity, and team discipline.
• Drive operational excellence across all assigned counters.
• Ensure counters are well-maintained with stocks, testers, and promotional materials.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure inventory accuracy.
• Coordinate tester and POSM requirements with relevant stakeholders.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluation, and retention of Beauty consultants.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, operational standards, and retail procedures.
• Conduct regular store visits and performance coaching sessions with Beauty consultants.
• Provide on-the-job guidance in sales techniques, customer engagement, consultation standards, and retail service excellence.
• Monitor individual and counter productivity and recommend improvement plans.
• Partner with the Field Coach/Education Team to ensure effective training implementation.
• Identify talent development opportunities and succession potential within the retail team.
• Ensure visual merchandising standards are consistently executed across all counters.
• Maintain counter staging, product displays, and promotional visibility per brand guidelines.
• Monitor fixture conditions and coordinate maintenance.
• Ensure all promotional launches and marketing campaigns are implemented accurately and on time.
• Monitor competitor activities, promotions, new launches, pricing, and retailer developments.
• Gather customer feedback and market insights.
• Identify commercial opportunities and initiatives to improve performance.
• Provide regular field updates and market intelligence reports to management.
• Support planning and execution of in-store events, promotional activities, and product launches.
• Collaborate with Marketing and retailer partners for successful execution.
• Guide and support Beauty consultants during activations to maximize engagement and sales.
• Monitor and report event performance and business outcomes.
• Prepare monthly sales and operational performance reports.
• Submit event reports, store visit reports, and ad hoc business reports.
• Prepare & submit Beauty Consultants commission reports.
• Maintain accurate records of store visits, action plans, inventory checks, and business reviews.
