Job summary

GAHARA SDN BHD is seeking a responsible Batik Production Assistant to support daily batik-making activities and production operations within the studio. You will assist in multiple stages, help maintain quality, prepare materials, manage tasks, and ensure smooth workflow while upholding safety standards.

Candidates with interest in traditional craftsmanship, textile production, and batik-making are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Textile Technology, Fine Arts, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Diploma or Degree in other relevant fields are also encouraged to apply.
• Previous batik-making, textile production, or handicrafts experience is an advantage.
• Willing to participate directly in batik-making and hands-on production activities.
• Knowledge of fabric preparation, canting, waxing, dyeing, colouring, and finishing is an advantage.
• Responsible, hardworking, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Able to follow production schedules and meet deadlines.
• Basic production record-keeping knowledge are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily batik production and studio activities.
• Participate directly in batik‑making processes, including fabric preparation, dyeing, colouring, and finishing.
• Prepare fabrics, dyes, wax, tools, and other materials required for production.
• Assist in producing batik products according to design specifications and production requirements.
• Monitor the progress of production and ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
• Check finished batik products to ensure quality and consistency.
• Maintain proper handling and storage of raw materials, tools, and equipment.
• Monitor material usage and minimise production waste.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and safety in the production area.
• Assist with inventory records and production documentation.
• Support product sampling, new designs, and batik development activities.
• Perform other production‑related duties assigned by management.
