Job summary

Sang Kancil Roastery Sdn. Bhd. in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, is hiring a Barista/Assistant Barista with a strong customer-service focus. You will prepare quality beverages, handle orders, and support sales both in-store and online. The role combines coffee craftsmanship with hospitality in a fast-paced cafe setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in barista or cafe roles with strong customer focus.
• Knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods, and espresso machine operation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to hygiene.
• Reliability and punctuality; basic transaction handling.
• Genuine enthusiasm for coffee and customer experience.
• Food handling and hygiene certification is advantageous.
• Online marketing and cold calling skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, pour-overs, and specialty coffees.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines and equipment, keeping them clean.
• Take orders accurately in person and via digital channels.
• Process payments and manage till accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across bar and service areas.
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth operations during peak times.
• Assist in online sales via WhatsApp, Shopee, Lazada, Tiktok and onsite channels.
