Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a bakery/pastry assistant to join the team. We welcome applicants with or without experience, and internships are encouraged for students.

You will assist pastry chefs and bakers in preparing doughs, batters, fillings, and toppings, operate bakery equipment, and help with packing, labeling, and stock rotation while ensuring hygiene and safety throughout the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of bakery or pastry preparation is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to stand for long hours and handle physical tasks.
• Team player with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist pastry chefs and bakers in preparing doughs, batters, fillings, and toppings.
• Operate bakery equipment and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area.
• Help with packing, labeling, and stock rotation.
• Ensure hygiene and safety compliance at all times.
• Bake different bread types, like pretzels, baguettes and multigrain breads.
• Mix various ingredients to create fillings for cakes and pies (e.g. chocolate ganache, caramel sauce and fruits).
• Decorate cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream and edible toppings, like flowers.
