Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a bakery/pastry assistant to join our team in Johor. No prior experience required, though basic bakery knowledge is helpful and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

You will assist pastry chefs with doughs, batters, fillings, and toppings, operate bakery equipment, and help with packing, labeling, and stock rotation while maintaining hygiene and safety standards. Flexible lunch within 11am-2pm.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of bakery or pastry preparation is an advantage
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to stand for long hours and handle physical tasks
• Team player with a positive attitude

Responsibilities

• Assist pastry chefs and bakers in preparing doughs, batters, fillings, and toppings.
• Operate bakery equipment and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area.
• Help with packing, labeling, and stock rotation.
• Ensure hygiene and safety compliance at all times.
• Bake different bread types, like pretzels, baguettes and multigrain breads.
• Mix various ingredients to create fillings for cakes and pies (e.g. chocolate ganache, caramel sauce and fruits).
• Decorate cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream and edible toppings, like flowers.
