Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a bakery/pastry assistant, experienced or not, to join our team. Students who want to apply internship also welcome to apply.

Assist pastry chefs and bakers with doughs, batters, fillings, and toppings; operate bakery equipment and keep the kitchen clean; help with packing, labeling and stock rotation; ensure hygiene and safety; bake various breads and create fillings for cakes and pies; decorate cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream and edible toppings.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of bakery or pastry preparation is an advantage
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to stand for long hours and handle physical tasks
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Performance bonus twice a year based on performance

Responsibilities

• Assist pastry chefs and bakers in preparing doughs, batters, fillings, and toppings.
• Operate bakery equipment and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area.
• Help with packing, labeling, and stock rotation.
• Ensure hygiene and safety compliance at all times.
• Bake different bread types, like pretzels, baguettes and multigrain breads.
• Mix various ingredients to create fillings for cakes and pies (e.g. chocolate ganache, caramel sauce and fruits).
• Decorate cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream and edible toppings, like flowers.
