Job summary

Carsem (M) Sdn. Bhd is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor to plan and coordinate daily maintenance of all manufacturing equipment at our Ipoh facilities.

You will supervise a team of maintenance technicians and ensure preventive maintenance plans are executed efficiently. You will work with equipment engineers to troubleshoot upgrades, ensure calibration of instruments, and manage spare parts to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechatronic/Engineering or equivalent with related working experience.
Experience with Backgrind & FOL equipment (Taper, Grinder, Polisher, Detaper, Inline machine, AOI).

Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure smooth operation of all manufacturing equipment.
Supervise and train a team of maintenance technicians.
Plan and coordinate periodic preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment upgrades and modifications.
Monitor equipment setup and ensure proper buy-off before handing to production.
Control spare parts inventory to prevent unnecessary downtime.
Ensure calibration of all manufacturing equipment and measuring instruments.
Enforce SOPs, verify abnormalities, address feedback, and communicate quality alerts across shifts.

Job description

Plan and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure smooth operation of all manufacturing equipment.

Supervise and train a team of maintenance technicians.

Plan and coordinate with the respective personnel on periodic preventive maintenance of all equipment and troubleshoot on equipment upgrading and modification.

Monitor and follow up to ensure equipment are properly setup and buyoff before assigning to production.

Control monitor usage and ensure sufficient supply of spare parts to prevent unnecessary machine downtime.

Ensure all manufacturing equipment / measuring instruments are calibrated.

Quality accountability:

(i) Enforce compliance to standard operating procedures and specifications.

(ii) Verify and recapture abnormalities/defects.

(iii) Address or escape subordinate feedback.

(iv) Execute, monitor, track and follow up changes / quality performance.

(v) Communicate quality alerts to operators / technicians / quality assurance and pass information to other shifts.

They are supported with a global network of sales and technical support offices. The China factory, Carsem-Suzhou Ltd., is located in the province of Jiangsu, 50 miles (80Km) west of Shanghai. The new factory is 172K sq. ft. (16K sq. m.) and is on 645K sq. ft. (60K sq. m.) of land in the Suzhou Industrial Park. The construction was completed in January 2004, the staff has been through extensive training in Carsem's existing Malaysian factories and the assembly and test equipment to support the manufacture of the MLP (Micro Leadframe Package) Quad and Dual was installed during the second quarter of 2004. Customer qualifications were completed during the second quarter and the factory started shipping production volumes during the third quarter of 2004.
