Job summary

MetaComp Pte Ltd is seeking a Backend Engineer with strong Java expertise to design, build, and maintain the services powering our platform. You will own APIs and data models end-to-end, collaborating with frontend, QA, and DevOps to deliver secure, scalable systems.

The role focuses on RESTful APIs, database design with MySQL/PostgreSQL, and microservices architecture. You will contribute to CI/CD pipelines, tests, and code quality while documenting architectural decisions and ensuring

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience developing backend systems in Java.
• Strong knowledge of Spring / Spring Boot (or a comparable Java framework).
• Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and SQL query optimization.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Good understanding of multithreading, memory management, and JVM performance basics.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito) and version control (Git).

Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with strong Java expertise to design, build, and maintain the services that power our platform. You'll own APIs and data models end-to-end, working closely with frontend, QA, and DevOps to deliver secure, scalable, and well-tested systems.

• Understanding of security best practices (OAuth2/JWT, encryption).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
