Job summary

Prokhas Sdn Bhd is seeking a backend engineer to build and maintain event-driven services for government IT web applications. You will work with product managers, engineers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable systems.

Join a cross-functional team, participate in code reviews and production support, and help improve performance while keeping security and quality top of mind. This role offers exposure to cloud, APIs, and modern backend patterns in a government-facing context.

Qualifications

• Experience with statically typed languages and building backend services in at least one of the listed languages
• Familiarity with asynchronous or event-driven systems
• Cares about code quality, testing, and long-term maintainability
• Comfortable participating in on-call rotations and handling production issues collaboratively
• Comfortable working in a team that values discussion and feedback

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain event-driven backend services
• Collaborate on domain modeling and service design
• Write automated tests to keep systems reliable and maintainable
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and production support
• Join a shared on-call rotation to support backend services in production, with escalation and support from the team
