Job summary

CluedIn is seeking an Azure Operations (DevOps) Engineer to join our client’s team. You will maintain Kubernetes clusters on Microsoft Azure, assist with upgrades, patching, monitoring, and incident response, and contribute to automation and documentation.

You should have production Kubernetes experience, scripting (Bash/PowerShell/YAML), and Azure familiarity, plus a proactive attitude to learn and support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
• Willingness to learn and support required tasks.
• Proficient in IT hardware, software, and basic networking troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Cluster Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of Kubernetes clusters on Microsoft Azure.
• Upgrades and Patching: Support the upgrade and patching processes for clusters to ensure stability and security.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues within the cluster environment, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
• Automation: Contribute to the development and implementation of automation scripts to streamline operational tasks.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and upto-date documentation related to cluster configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Monitoring and Alerts: Set up and manage monitoring tools and alerts to proactively address potential issues.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the development and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of our products.

Technical Requirements (Must Have)

• Production experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration is a must
• Knowledge of one scripting tool such as Bash / PowerShell / YAML
• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure.
• Willingness to Learn and Support: A proactive attitude towards learning and supporting the tasks mentioned.
• Technical Proficiency: good foundational knowledge in managing IT hardware, software, and network troubleshooting, capable of providing efficient assistance (with the support of a more senior member when needed.)

Technical Requirements (Good to Have)

• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Basic knowledge of Backup Services (ideally Azure)
• Basic knowledge of Firewall (ideally Azure Firewall)
• Basic Knowledge of Networking (ideally Azure network)
• Basic Knowledge of zero trust environment and what it entails
• Scripting: Experience with Terraform
• User Account Management Experience
• Audit and Compliance Familiarity (preferably with SOC 2)
• Certifications: Any applicable certifications, eg. cybersecurity.
