Job summary

HTC Global Services in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a cloud-focused data engineer to help build and operate the Data Ecosystem in the cloud, with emphasis on secure, scalable infrastructure and cost effectiveness. You will collaborate with architects, troubleshoot incidents, and implement pipelines as code using Kubernetes, Docker, Azure, Terraform, and CI/CD tools.

Experience with Python and data engineering practices is valuable.

Qualifications

• Experience operating Data Ecosystem in cloud environments.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud databases.
• Strong automation, IaC, and CI/CD capabilities.
• Familiarity with Azure-based services and private networking.

Responsibilities

• Continuously improving, monitoring, maintaining, and extending Data Ecosystem infrastructure in the cloud, including cloud storage, event queues, and databases.
• Ensuring the Data Ecosystem is secure, stable, cost effective, scalable and guiding users to use services optimally.
• Collaborating with architects to set guidelines and standards for the Data Ecosystem.
• Troubleshooting tickets and incidents reported by data engineers related to the platform and supporting deliveries.
• Building and maintaining pipelines that provision technical products to users via Infrastructure as Code.

Job description

• Continuously improving, monitoring, maintaining, and extending the individual elements of the Data Ecosystem infrastructure in the cloud, e.g., cloud storage, file event queues, and databases, etc.


• ensuring that the Data Ecosystem is secure, stable, cost effective, scalable and help our users with guidance to use the services optimally


• collaborating with architects to set guidelines and standards for the Data Ecosystem


• troubleshooting tickets and incidents reported by data engineers relating to the platform and helping them succeed with their deliveries


• build and maintain pipelines that can provision technical products to those using Infrastructure as Code.


• Have experience using Kubernetes, Docker, relational databases (modelling, performance tuning) and private networking as well as deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and securing cloud resources, preferably on Azure


• experience with automation, version control, DevOps, IaC and CI/CD (e.g., using Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Terraform) . AWS experience as a bonus


• experience in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, and Azure CLI) and it is a big plus also having experience with software development, preferably using Python


• have good understanding of Data Engineering practices such as data analytics, data processing tools, ETL, ELT etc.
