Job summary

2201 United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Securities Settlement professional to manage daily settlement activities for local and foreign markets, including currency conversions. You will collaborate with operations to meet SLAs, resolve exceptions, and support custody activities.

The role requires 5–6 years of exposure to global markets and strong English communication, along with analytical and problem-solving abilities to mitigate risks and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in Banking, Finance or Economics.
• 5–6 years of experience preferred.
• Experience in Global Market/Global Custodian, especially in Custody Operations and Securities Settlement.

Responsibilities

• In charge of daily Securities Settlement processing for Local and Foreign markets and foreign currency conversion
• Pro-actively work with operations team to ensure trades settle correctly meeting SLA and cut-off time
• Attend to client’s problems and issues offering solutions and escalating to management including custody billing and fees quotations
• Review and handle existing and new custody agreements and amendments like fee structure and new clauses to safeguard bank’s interest
• Prepare statistics and management reports on trade operations to cope with extra or unpredictable market patterns or metrics
• Identify process improvement and streamline for better efficiency and so save cost at all times
• Resolve any technical or operations issue promptly with business and technology team
• Ensure compliance with corporate policy, operational risk and audit
• Perform team capacity planning and guide and train junior team members undefined
