2201 United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is seeking an experienced Securities Settlement professional to manage daily settlements for local and international markets, including currency conversion. You will collaborate with operations to meet SLAs, review custody agreements, and address client issues with accuracy.

Candidates should have 5–6 years in global markets or custody operations, strong English communication, and familiarity with Bursa processes, SWIFT, and RENTAS.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Banking & Finance or Economics is required.
• 5–6 years of relevant experience in global markets/custody operations preferred.
• Experience with Bursa processes, SWIFT, RENTAS and custody settlements is essential.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee daily securities settlement for local and foreign markets and currency conversion.
• Coordinate with operations to meet SLA, cutoffs, and market holidays.
• Investigate and resolve exceptions to avoid fail trades.
• Respond to client issues, provide solutions, and handle custody billing and quotes.
• Review custody agreements and amendments to protect bank interests.
• Prepare trade operation statistics and management reports for market patterns.
• Identify process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
• Resolve technical/operational issues with business and technology teams.
• Ensure compliance with policy, risk management and audit requirements.
• Lead, train and guide junior team members.

Job Description

• In charge of daily Securities Settlement processing for Local and Foreign markets and foreign currency conversion
• Pro-actively work with operations team to ensure trade are settled correctly meeting SLA and cut off time and market holidays
• Investigate, resolve any exceptions that arise to ensure no fail trades
• Attend to client’s problems and issues offering solutions and escalating to management which include custody billing and fees quotations and new market and asset to support
• Review and handle existing and new custody agreement and any amendments like fee structure and new clauses to safeguard bank’s interest
• Prepare statistics and management report on trade operations to cope with extra or unpredictable market patterns or metrics
• Identify process improvement and streamline for better efficiency and so save cost at all times
• Resolve any technical or operations issue promptly with business and technology team
• Ensure compliance with corporate policy, operational risk and audit
• Perform team capacity planning and guide and train junior team members

Requirements

• Minimum degree qualifications in Banking and Finance, Economics industry
• Preferred experience of 5-6 years
• Experienced and knowledge in Global Market/Global Custodian specifically in Custody Operations and Securities Settlement practices
• Familiar and exposed to Bursa Operational process and payment system like SWIFT and RENTAS
• Possess broad and in-depth knowledge of Malaysian Capital Market structure and requirements and is familiar with generally acceptable best practices in compliance and risk management
• Experience in managing a team preferred
• Passionate and has pleasant personality with strong interpersonal skills
• Fluent in spoken and written English, self-starter with strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
• Good writing and presentation skills
