Job summary

Global Turbine Asia in Malaysia is seeking an Aviation Safety Executive to support the Safety Manager in maintaining and improving the SMS. You will help ensure regulatory compliance, incident reporting, and risk mitigation across maintenance activities.

You will coordinate hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety performance monitoring, while contributing to safety training and data analysis using Excel, Power BI and Tableau.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Aerospace, Aviation, Aircraft Maintenance, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years in aviation, preferably safety, maintenance or operations.
• Familiar with SMS frameworks and safety reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Deputise for the Safety Manager and support day-to-day safety activities.
• Maintain and improve the SMS per aviation safety requirements.
• Manage safety reporting and occurrence logging, follow up on incidents.
• Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment and mitigation.
• Monitor safety performance indicators and prepare periodic safety reports.
• Support investigations and lessons learned for incidents and hazards.
• Integrate aviation safety with information security risk considerations.
• Maintain safety records and incorporate findings into training.

We are looking for an Aviation Safety Executive to support the Safety Manager in maintaining and continuously improving the Company's Safety Management System.

This role responsible for supporting regulatory compliance, internal audits, safety risk management, quality monitoring and corrective actions, ensuring that the Company's maintenance activities comply with applicable CAAM, EASA, DGTA/MSTAR 145 and EASA Part-IS requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Aviation Safety Executive

Deputise for the Safety Manager in their absence and support the day-to-day management of safety activities.

Support the Safety Manager in maintaining and continuously improving the Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with applicable aviation safety requirements.

Manage and monitor the safety reporting and occurrence reporting system, ensuring safety issues and incidents are appropriately recorded, assessed and followed up.

Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment and risk mitigation activities, and monitor the effectiveness of implemented safety controls.

Monitor and analyse safety performance and Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) and support the preparation of periodic safety reports for the Safety Review Board.

Support the investigation and follow-up of maintenance incidents, safety issues and identified hazards, including identifying lessons learned and areas for improvement.

Support the integration of aviation safety and information security risk management, particularly in assessing the potential impact of information security risks, incidents and vulnerabilities on safety.

Maintain and control safety management records and documentation, and support the incorporation of safety lessons and findings into the recurrent training programme

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Aerospace, Aviation, Aircraft Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in the aviation industry, preferably in safety, maintenance, or operational environments.

SMS principles and frameworks: Risk Assessment Tools & Techniques, Bowtie analysis, Fault tree analysis (FTA), Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)

Accident Investigation Techniques: Root cause analysis (RCA), Human factors analysis (HFACS) and use of safety databases (e.g.,ECCAIRS)

Data Analysis & Safety Performance Monitoring: Safety performance indicators (SPIs), Statistical tools and software (Excel, Power BI, Tableau)

Audit and Inspection Proficiency: Conducting internal and external audits

Aviation Operational Knowledge: Understanding of maintenance operations.

Proficient in Microsoft applications (Office, excel, powerpoint, lists, sharepoint, teams).
