Job summary

Plassein Industry Sdn Bhd is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead automotive NPIs from concept to production. You will coordinate timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring SOPs, PFMEA, control plans, and work instructions are in place for new ventures.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Suppliers to drive on-time launches, manage risks, and support audits while seeking continuous process improvements and efficient manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, preferably automotive manufacturing / NPI.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans preferred.
• Strong project management, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, proactive, and able to work closely with production and engineering teams.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and reporting skills.
• Mandarin proficiency is essential for direct Chinese-speaking stakeholders.

Authority

Authorized to plan, implement, and monitor project activities within approved scope.

Authorized to recommend and implement corrective actions related to project execution.

Authorized to approve project-related process documentation prior to management endorsement.

Working Condition

Based in manufacturing / production environment, may require presence on the production floor.

May require extended hours during project launch, trial runs, or customer audits.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

On-time completion of project milestones.

Successful NPI launches meeting quality, cost, and delivery targets.

Reduction in project-related defects / rework.

Compliance with SOPs, PFMEA, Control Plans, and documentation.

On-time completion of NPI, trials, and validations.

Audit performance (zero major findings).

Effective communication and coordination across project teams.
