Job summary

Ak Land Sdn Bhd in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our automotive team on a full-time basis. You will diagnose mechanical issues, perform maintenance, and ensure safety and quality standards across vehicle repairs.

You will work with a modern workshop, use diagnostic equipment, and collaborate with team members to deliver reliable service to customers. A formal automotive qualification and relevant workshop experience are required.

Qualifications

• Formal automotive mechanics qualification or certification.
• Proven experience as a mechanic in a workshop.
• Strong technical knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes.
• Ability to read repair manuals and repair specifications.
• Valid driving licence and ability to test drive vehicles.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Commitment to safety and high workmanship standards.
• Physically fit for varied positions and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and knowledge.
• Perform routine maintenance like oil changes, filters and fluid top-ups.
• Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes and suspension components.
• Inspect and test vehicles to ensure roadworthiness.
• Follow manufacturer procedures to ensure quality workmanship.
• Maintain records of work and parts used for each vehicle.
• Communicate repair options and costs to customers.
• Keep workshop clean and comply with health and safety rules.
• Collaborate with team to complete complex repairs efficiently.
• Stay updated with new vehicle technologies and repair techniques.
